Christmas Program '07

I had the privilege of participating in the Christmas play in TN tonight. The play was set in the 60's and was written about a business man, Jake Johnson, who owned a private hospital and refused to help anyone without money or insurance. That is, until Christmas eve when a baby is born in a car in his parking lot. The character of Jake Johnson was played by Yours Truly, and his wife, Libby, was played by my best friend, Jill.

Meet Maya

I adopted Maya in April of this year. She was scared, nervous, and quite noisy...
When I found out I was moving to Tupelo and would be gone for two weeks of training, my niece offered to keep Maya...that's the last I have seen of Maya except for supervised visits and photos. This cat is CRAZY! She has trained her new adoptive family to clean the litter box immediately after use or she will punish...seriously, and she also is too good to drink out of a water dish. Her water must come from a running water source as you will note in the photos. What about the water dish? I'm glad you asked. The water dish is now simply a paw-washing station to be used after tidying up around the litter box. She's hilarious!

Years ago....

I was digging through my email inbox tonight, replying to a few previously ignored emails, deleting others, and came across an email that included the following photos. While living in KS, I met two of my best friends, Bethany and Courtney, who in turn were introduced to my other best friend, Scott. A few years ago, on one fine Spring day Beth, Court, and I flew out to PA to visit Scott and take in the sites, sounds, smells, etc...of PA and DC. I will never forget having to stay overnight in Cockeysville, MD where I almost ended up in a fight with the hotel's front-desk-clerk, Tarice, over the price of the room. The next morning we arose early to continue our adventure in Washington D.C. There are many other details that made this trip one I will always remember, but I will spare you of them for now.

I'm back!!!

I think I am back in the blogging world again for awhile... After Dad's death, moving to TN, moving to MS, multiple technical difficulties, etc...I just seemed to not be able to blog very often at all. Hopefully, I will be able to keep up with events in my life again.

Picking Corn

I'm not sure how I get involved in some of the things in which I often find myself. One of those things took place over this past weekend in TN....picking dried corn. It really wasn't too bad. I only received multiple lacerations from the countless briars and thistles that had grown up amongst the corn.

Scavenger Hunt '07

My friends and family in TN took part in a scavenger hunt this past weekend. They had to "dress up" in the provided costume items and visit the designated locations for clues. Wish I could have been there to join in on the fun!

4th of July

4th of July this year was a blast!

*A pig roast was held at my mom's place.
*Approx. 65 people attended.
*Sam took the dare to go in the ice for 3 minutes.
*5 days later Sam was finally thawed out.
*About 15 preschoolers were in the pool. I think we successfully drowned 4 of them. (just kidding)
*$800 worth of fireworks lit up the sky.(no I didn't spend that much! we pooled our resources)
It was fun!!!

Weddings Bells

On June 9, 2007, my cousin Nathan was married in south Alabama. It was a beautiful ceremony. My favorite part was being able to assist in the decor that was applied to his vehicle.. hee hee...

Tennessee

Hi everyone! I am back!
I arrived safely in Tennessee on April 28th and have begun to get somewhat settled in.

On May 13th, along with celebrating Mother's Day, we also celebrated my 30th birthday. uuugghhh! I feel old!
The school where my mom and sister teach went on a field trip on May 14th to the Space Center in AL. I was able to go along as a guest. I have posted a photo below of me in the space shuttle simulator.... I crashed.... and burned.... it was awful!!!

I would post more but the pool is calling my name. Later!

Kansas Visit

I went back to Kansas over the weekend to see friends and tell everyone bye. I stayed with my friends, Brad & Beth on Friday night and Saturday morning we woke up to find about 2" of snow on the ground. Saturday was moving day for them. Needless to say, the snow made it a very interesting day to move.

Sunday morning, Hobe Sound Bible College choir was at church. They did a wonderful job. My cousin, Joyce, was in the choir, and it was nice being able to see her as well.
